Leadership—Lead the School in fulfilling its mission, values, and vision. Update the School on the latest issues, trends, and challenges facing disciplines within the arts and sciences. Support curriculum development, including assessment and accreditation
Advocacy—Advocate for the value of the arts and sciences within the college and the broader local and global community
Planning and Management—Plan for and manage all human, financial, and facilities resources of the School, including the Great Lakes Center, the Performing Arts Center, the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium, and the Czurles-Nelson Gallery
Faculty support—Support the faculty through the hiring, renewal, tenure, and promotion. Support the faculty’s teaching, research and creative activity, and service. Address personnel issues
School development—Develop the School by fundraising, cultivating donors, and developing campus, community, national, and international partnerships
Budgetary oversight—Oversee state, research foundation, and Buffalo State foundation accounts and funds
